If the conditions of Article 51c, points (b) and (c), are not met, medical treatment may nevertheless take place as a last resort:
insofar as it is plausible that, without that treatment, the danger caused by the mental disorder of the minor cannot be averted within a reasonable period, or
insofar as this is strictly necessary to avert the danger that the mental disorder causes the minor to create within the institution.
Indien niet wordt voldaan aan de voorwaarden van artikel 51c, onderdelen b en c, kan niettemin als uiterste redmiddel geneeskundige behandeling plaatsvinden:
voor zover aannemelijk is dat zonder die behandeling het gevaar dat de stoornis van de geestvermogens de jeugdige doet veroorzaken niet binnen een redelijke termijn kan worden weggenomen, of
voor zover dit volstrekt noodzakelijk is om het gevaar dat de stoornis van de geestvermogens de jeugdige binnen de inrichting doet veroorzaken, af te wenden.
