The juvenile upon whom the disciplinary punishment of confinement, as referred to in Article 55, paragraph 1, under a, has been imposed, is excluded from participation in activities, insofar as the director does not determine otherwise and without prejudice to the daily stay in the open air, as referred to in Article 53, paragraph 3. The director may limit or exclude contact with the outside world, as referred to in Chapter VIII, during the confinement.
The director shall ensure that, in the event that confinement in a disciplinary cell is executed and lasts longer than twenty-four hours, the supervisory committee and the physician attached to the institution, or their substitute, are notified thereof immediately.
Our Minister shall establish further rules regarding the stay in and the layout of the disciplinary cell. These shall in any event concern the rights to which the juvenile is entitled during the stay in the disciplinary cell.
De jeugdige aan wie de disciplinaire straf van opsluiting, bedoeld in artikel 55, eerste lid, onder a, is opgelegd is uitgesloten van deelname aan activiteiten, voor zover de directeur niet anders bepaalt en behoudens het dagelijks verblijf in de buitenlucht, bedoeld in artikel 53, derde lid. De directeur kan het contact met de buitenwereld, bedoeld in hoofdstuk VIII, gedurende de opsluiting beperken of uitsluiten.
De directeur draagt zorg dat, ingeval de opsluiting in een strafcel ten uitvoer wordt gelegd en langer dan vierentwintig uren duurt, de commissie van toezicht en de aan de inrichting verbonden arts of diens vervanger terstond hiervan in kennis worden gesteld.
Onze Minister stelt nadere regels omtrent het verblijf in en de inrichting van de strafcel. Deze betreffen in elk geval de rechten die tijdens het verblijf in de strafcel aan de jeugdige toekomen.
