1.

The house rules may stipulate that the possession of certain types of objects within the institution or a specific department thereof is prohibited, if this is necessary in the interest of maintaining order or safety within the institution, or for the limitation of the director's liability for the objects.

2.

The director may grant a juvenile permission to keep in his room or to have in his possession objects belonging to him, the possession of which is not prohibited pursuant to the first paragraph, insofar as this is compatible with the following interests:

a.

the maintenance of order or security within the institution;

b.

the mental or physical development of the minor;

c.

the implementation of the perspective plan;

d.

the liability of the director for the objects.

3.

The director may attach conditions to the consent referred to in the second paragraph, which may concern the use of and the liability for these objects. By or pursuant to an order in council, rules may be laid down under which the liability of the director for objects that a juvenile has in their possession pursuant to the second paragraph is limited to a certain amount.

4.

The director is authorised to have objects belonging to the juvenile examined at the juvenile's expense, in order to determine whether the admission or possession thereof may be permitted or is prohibited pursuant to the first and second paragraphs, respectively.

5.

The director is authorised to seize objects that are prohibited or for which no permission has been granted pursuant to the first or second paragraph, respectively. He shall ensure that these objects are either stored at the expense of the juvenile against issuance of a receipt, destroyed with the consent of the juvenile, or handed over to an investigative officer with a view to the prevention or detection of criminal offences.

1.

a.

de handhaving van de orde of de veiligheid in de inrichting;

b.

de geestelijke of de lichamelijke ontwikkeling van de jeugdige;

c.

de uitvoering van het perspectiefplan;

d.
