The payment of the cheque may be secured, both for its entire amount and for a part thereof, by a suretyship (aval).

This suretyship may be given by a third party, except by the drawee, or even by a person whose signature appears on the cheque.

De betaling van de chèque kan zoowel voor haar geheele bedrag als voor een gedeelte daarvan door eenen borgtocht (aval) worden verzekerd.

Deze borgtocht kan door eenen derde, behalve door den betrokkene, of zelfs door iemand, wiens handteekening op de chèque voorkomt, worden gegeven.
