With respect to liability on the basis of this Section, the person held liable cannot invoke their young age or a mental or physical shortcoming.
The person who exercises parental authority or guardianship over a child who has not yet reached the age of fourteen years, is liable in his place under Articles 173 and 179 for the things and animals referred to therein, unless these are used in the exercise of a business.
Ter zake van aansprakelijkheid op grond van deze afdeling kan de aangesprokene geen beroep doen op zijn jeugdige leeftijd of geestelijke of lichamelijke tekortkoming.
Degene die het ouderlijk gezag of voogdij uitoefent over een kind dat nog niet de leeftijd van veertien jaren heeft bereikt, is in zijn plaats uit de artikelen 173 en 179 voor de daar bedoelde zaken en dieren aansprakelijk, tenzij deze worden gebruikt in de uitoefening van een bedrijf.
