The management of the Office shall be vested in the Director-General, who is accountable to the Management Board for the activities of the Office.
The Director-General is authorised, having heard the Board of Directors, to delegate the exercise of certain powers vested in him to the Deputy Directors-General.
The Director-General and the Deputy Directors-General shall be nationals of the Member States. The three nationalities shall be represented within the directorate.
De leiding van het Bureau berust bij de Directeur-Generaal die aan de Raad van Bestuur verantwoording is verschuldigd voor de werkzaamheden van het Bureau.
De Directeur-Generaal is bevoegd, de Raad van Bestuur gehoord hebbende, de uitoefening van bepaalde hem toekomende bevoegdheden te delegeren aan de Adjunct-Directeuren-Generaal.
De Directeur-Generaal en de Adjunct-Directeuren-Generaal zijn onderdaan van de lidstaten. De drie nationaliteiten zijn binnen de directie vertegenwoordigd.
