1.
In the performance of his duties, the curator shall proceed on the basis of the religious beliefs, convictions and cultural background of the person placed under curatorship.
2.
The curator shall promote, where possible, the self-reliance of the person placed under curatorship (onder curatele gestelde).
3.
Paragraphs 1 and 2 apply mutatis mutandis to administrators (bewindvoerders) and mentors (mentoren).

De curator gaat bij zijn taakvervulling uit van de levensovertuiging, godsdienstige gezindheid en culturele achtergrond van de onder curatele gestelde.
2.
De curator bevordert, waar mogelijk, de zelfredzaamheid van de onder curatele gestelde.
3.
Het eerste en tweede lid zijn van overeenkomstige toepassing op bewindvoerders en mentoren.
