The head of the institution shall ensure that a patients' council can be elected from and by the patients.
The task of the residents' council is to consult with the head of the institution regarding all general matters concerning the living and residential environment of the institution. Both the council and the head of the institution may raise these matters for discussion during such consultation.
Rules regarding the powers, composition and working methods of the patients' council (verpleegdenraad) shall be laid down by Order in Council.
Het hoofd van de instelling draagt zorg dat uit en door de verpleegden een verpleegdenraad kan worden gekozen.
De verpleegdenraad heeft tot taak met het hoofd van de instelling in overleg te treden over alle algemene onderwerpen betreffende het leef- en woonklimaat van de instelling. Zowel de raad als het hoofd van de instelling kunnen deze onderwerpen in dat overleg aan de orde stellen.
Bij algemene maatregel van bestuur worden regels gesteld over de bevoegdheden, de samenstelling en de werkwijze van de verpleegdenraad.
