Where the defendant, upon his first appearance at the hearing, requests an adjournment in the interest of his defence, the sub-district court judge shall suspend the proceedings for a specific period if this request appears well-founded to him.
Wanneer de verdachte bij zijn eerste verschijning op de terechtzitting in het belang van zijn verdediging uitstel verzoekt, schorst de kantonrechter het onderzoek voor een bepaalde tijd, indien dit verzoek hem gegrond voorkomt.
