Article 281

If the interest of the investigation so requires, the court shall order the suspension of the proceedings for a definite or indefinite period.
The suspension for a definite period may, if necessary, be extended from time to time until a date to be determined.
The grounds for suspension shall be stated in the official report of the court hearing.
In the event of a suspension, an official report (proces-verbaal) shall be drawn up that meets the requirements of Article 326.
Upon resumption of the proceedings, Articles 319 up to and including 322 shall apply.
Indien het belang van het onderzoek dit vordert, beveelt de rechtbank de schorsing van het onderzoek voor bepaalde of onbepaalde tijd.
De schorsing voor bepaalde tijd kan zo nodig telkens tot een nader te bepalen tijdstip worden verlengd.
De redenen voor schorsing worden in het proces-verbaal van de terechtzitting vermeld.
In geval van schorsing wordt er een proces-verbaal opgemaakt dat aan de eisen van artikel 326 voldoet.
Bij hervatting van het onderzoek zijn de artikelen 319 tot en met 322 van toepassing.
