Except in the case mentioned in Article 227a, the drawee paying the cheque may demand that it be surrendered to him, provided with a proper receipt from the holder.
The holder may not refuse to accept a partial payment.
In the event of partial payment, the drawee may require that mention of that payment be made on the cheque and that a receipt be given to him therefor.
Buiten het geval, in artikel 227a vermeld, kan de betrokkene de chèque betalende, vorderen, dat hem deze, van behoorlijke kwijting van den houder voorzien, wordt uitgeleverd.
De houder mag niet weigeren een gedeeltelijke betaling aan te nemen.
In geval van gedeeltelijke betaling kan de betrokkene vorderen, dat van die betaling op de chèque melding wordt gemaakt en dat hem daarvoor kwijting wordt gegeven.
