The endorsement must be written on the cheque or on an attached sheet (allonge). It must be signed by the endorser.
The endorsement may leave the endorsee unspecified, or consist of the mere signature of the endorser (endorsement in blank). In the latter case, the endorsement must, in order to be valid, be placed on the back of the cheque or on the allonge.
Het endossement moet gesteld worden op de chèque of op een vastgehecht blad (verlengstuk). Het moet worden onderteekend door den endossant.
Het endossement kan den geëndosseerde onvermeld laten, of bestaan uit de enkele handteekening van den endossant (endossement in blanco). In het laatste geval moet het endossement om geldig te zijn, op de rugzijde van de chèque of op het verlengstuk worden gesteld.
