In cases where a person who has been lawfully deprived of their liberty abroad is temporarily placed at the disposal of the Dutch judicial authorities and those of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba for the execution of an investigative act, they shall be placed in police custody (in verzekering gesteld) during their stay on Dutch territory by order of the competent member of the Public Prosecution Service. Articles 54, 55 and 56, paragraph 1, shall apply accordingly, insofar as necessary.
The remand in custody shall be lifted as soon as the competent member of the Public Prosecution Service receives notification that the grounds for deprivation of liberty abroad no longer exist.
In de gevallen dat een persoon, die in het buitenland rechtens van zijn vrijheid is beroofd, tijdelijk ter beschikking wordt gesteld van de Nederlandse justitie en die van Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba ter uitvoering van een onderzoekshandeling wordt hij gedurende zijn verblijf op Nederlands grondgebied op bevel van het bevoegde lid van het openbaar ministerie in verzekering gesteld. De artikelen 54, 55 en 56, eerste lid, zijn, voor zoveel nodig, van overeenkomstige toepassing.
De inverzekeringstelling wordt opgeheven zodra het bevoegde lid van het openbaar ministerie bericht ontvangt, dat de gronden voor vrijheidsberoving in het buitenland niet langer bestaan.
