The Police Academy is tasked with:
the development and provision of police education, consisting of the development and provision of:
police training programmes;
other forms of education, other than those referred to under 1°;
the examination of students who have followed the study programmes referred to under 1° or 2°;
developing knowledge regarding the police or the police task and contributing to the development of the performance of the police task to which police education is directed, including by conducting research.
The Police Academy shall perform the tasks referred to in the first paragraph for the benefit of the police. The police shall exclusively procure the tasks referred to in the first paragraph, under (a), from the Police Academy, without prejudice to the tasks of the European Police College.
The Police Academy may also perform the tasks referred to in the first paragraph for the benefit of:
the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, insofar as it concerns the execution of police duties, and the National Criminal Investigation Department;
categories of persons designated by Our Minister, other public services or legal entities that perform a task under public law in the field of police, justice or security.
De Politieacademie heeft tot taak:
het ontwikkelen en verzorgen van politieonderwijs, bestaande uit het ontwikkelen en het verzorgen van:
politieopleidingen;
overige opleidingen, anders dan bedoeld onder 1°;
het examineren van de studenten die de opleidingen, bedoeld onder 1° of 2°, hebben gevolgd;
het ontwikkelen van kennis over de politie of de politietaak en het bijdragen aan de ontwikkeling van de uitoefening van de politietaak waarop het politieonderwijs is gericht, onder meer door het verrichten van onderzoek.
De Politieacademie verricht de in het eerste lid bedoelde taken ten behoeve van de politie. De politie neemt de in het eerste lid, onder a, bedoelde taken uitsluitend af bij de Politieacademie, onverminderd de taken van de Europese Politieacademie.
De Politieacademie kan de in het eerste lid, bedoelde taken tevens uitvoeren ten behoeve van:
de Koninklijke marechaussee, voor zover het betreft de uitvoering van de politietaak, en de rijksrecherche;
door Onze Minister aangewezen categorieën van personen, andere openbare diensten of rechtspersonen, die een publiekrechtelijke taak uitoefenen op het terrein van politie, justitie of veiligheid.
