Only with the consent of the creditor may a debtor discharge himself from his obligation by means of a performance other than that which is due, even if it were of equal or even higher value.
Slechts met toestemming van de schuldeiser kan een schuldenaar zich van zijn verbintenis bevrijden door een andere prestatie dan de verschuldigde, al mocht zij van gelijke of zelfs hogere waarde zijn.
