A suspensive condition causes the operation of the obligation to commence only upon the occurrence of the event; a resolutive condition causes the obligation to lapse upon the occurrence of the event.
Een opschortende voorwaarde doet de werking der verbintenis eerst met het plaatsvinden der gebeurtenis aanvangen; een ontbindende voorwaarde doet de verbintenis met het plaatsvinden der gebeurtenis vervallen.
