In the event that a legal action is brought in the Netherlands to obtain a sum of money expressed in foreign currency, the creditor may claim an order for payment, at his choice, in that foreign currency or in Dutch currency.
The creditor who is entitled to enforce in the Netherlands an enforceable title denominated in foreign currency, may, in such enforcement, claim the amount due to him in Dutch currency.
The preceding paragraphs shall also apply if the debtor is obliged to make payment effectively in the currency in which the obligation is denominated.
Ingeval in Nederland een rechtsvordering wordt ingesteld ter verkrijging van een geldsom, uitgedrukt in buitenlands geld, kan de schuldeiser veroordeling vorderen tot betaling te zijner keuze in dat buitenlandse geld of in Nederlands geld.
De schuldeiser die een in buitenlands geld luidende executoriale titel in Nederland kan executeren, kan het hem verschuldigde bij deze executie opeisen in Nederlands geld.
De vorige leden gelden mede, indien de schuldenaar verplicht is tot betaling effectief in het geld tot betaling waarvan de verbintenis strekt.
