The Organization possesses international legal personality for the exercise of the tasks assigned to it.
The Organization possesses national legal personality and therefore has, within the territory of the three Benelux countries, the legal capacity granted to national legal persons, insofar as necessary for the performance of its tasks and for the achievement of its objectives, in particular the power to enter into contracts, to acquire and dispose of movable and immovable property, to receive and disburse private and public funds, and to institute legal proceedings.
The Director-General of the Office, hereinafter referred to as "the Director-General", represents the Organization in and out of court.
De Organisatie bezit internationale rechtspersoonlijkheid ter uitoefening van de haar toebedeelde taken.
De Organisatie bezit nationale rechtspersoonlijkheid en heeft derhalve, op het grondgebied van de drie Benelux-landen, de rechtsbevoegdheid die aan nationale rechtspersonen is toegekend, voor zover nodig voor de uitoefening van haar taken en voor het bereiken van haar doelstellingen, in het bijzonder de bevoegdheid om contracten te sluiten, roerende en onroerende goederen te verwerven en te vervreemden, particuliere en openbare gelden te ontvangen en uit te geven en in rechte op te treden.
De Directeur-Generaal van het Bureau, hierna te noemen „de Directeur-Generaal", vertegenwoordigt de Organisatie in en buiten rechte.
