The Supreme Court consists of a president, at most seven vice-presidents, at most thirty justices, and at most twenty justices in extraordinary service.
Justices in extraordinary service perform duties, in the capacity of justice, insofar as they are called upon to do so by the president.
A registrar is employed at the Supreme Court.
At the Supreme Court, judicial research officers (gerechtsauditeurs) and a deputy registrar may be employed.
For the application of the first paragraph, the President of, the Vice-Presidents of, and the Justices of the Supreme Court to whom extraordinary leave without retention of salary has been granted, shall be disregarded for the duration of that leave and for a period of at most one year thereafter.
For the application of the first paragraph, judicial officers who have been appointed for less than full-time working hours shall be counted in accordance with the fraction representing their working hours.
De Hoge Raad bestaat uit een president, ten hoogste zeven vice-presidenten, ten hoogste dertig raadsheren en ten hoogste twintig raadsheren in buitengewone dienst.
De raadsheren in buitengewone dienst verrichten, als raadsheer, werkzaamheden voorzover zij daartoe door de president worden opgeroepen.
Bij de Hoge Raad is een griffier werkzaam.
Bij de Hoge Raad kunnen gerechtsauditeurs en een substituut-griffier werkzaam zijn.
Voor de toepassing van het eerste lid worden de president van, de vice-presidenten van en de raadsheren in de Hoge Raad aan wie buitengewoon verlof zonder behoud van bezoldiging is verleend, voor de duur van dat verlof en gedurende ten hoogste een jaar daarna buiten beschouwing gelaten.
Voor de toepassing van het eerste lid worden rechterlijke ambtenaren die zijn aangesteld voor een minder dan volledige arbeidsduur, geteld overeenkomstig de breuk die hun arbeidsduur aangeeft.
