The works council shall promote, as far as lies within its power, compliance with the regulations applicable to the enterprise in the field of terms and conditions of employment, as well as the regulations in the field of working conditions and working and rest hours of the persons working in the enterprise.
Furthermore, the works council shall, to the best of its ability, promote work consultations, as well as the delegation of powers within the enterprise, so that the persons employed in the enterprise are involved as much as possible in the regulation of work in the part of the enterprise in which they are employed.
The works council shall, in general, guard against discrimination within the enterprise and, in particular, promote the equal treatment of men and women, as well as the integration of disabled persons and minorities into the enterprise.
The works council shall, to the best of its ability, promote the enterprise's care for the environment, including the adoption or amendment of policy-related, organisational and administrative provisions in connection with the environment.
De ondernemingsraad bevordert zoveel als in zijn vermogen ligt de naleving van de voor de onderneming geldende voorschriften op het gebied van de arbeidsvoorwaarden, alsmede van de voorschriften op het gebied van de arbeidsomstandigheden en arbeids- en rusttijden van de in de onderneming werkzame personen.
De ondernemingsraad bevordert voorts naar vermogen het werkoverleg, alsmede het overdragen van bevoegdheden in de onderneming, zodat de in de onderneming werkzame personen zoveel mogelijk worden betrokken bij de regeling van de arbeid in het onderdeel van de onderneming waarin zij werkzaam zijn.
De ondernemingsraad waakt in het algemeen tegen discriminatie in de onderneming en bevordert in het bijzonder de gelijke behandeling van mannen en vrouwen alsmede de inschakeling van gehandicapten en minderheden in de onderneming.
De ondernemingsraad bevordert naar vermogen de zorg van de onderneming voor het milieu, waaronder begrepen het treffen of wijzigen van beleidsmatige, organisatorische en administratieve voorzieningen in verband met het milieu.
