1. For the purposes of carrying out the tasks assigned to it under this Section, the Commission may take the necessary actions to monitor the effective implementation and compliance with this Regulation by providers of the very large online platform and of the very large online search engines. The Commission may order them to provide access to, and explanations relating to, its databases and algorithms. Such actions may include, imposing an obligation on the provider of the very large online platform or of the very large online search engine to retain all documents deemed to be necessary to assess the implementation of and compliance with the obligations under this Regulation.
2. The actions pursuant to paragraph 1 may include the appointment of independent external experts and auditors, as well as experts and auditors from competent national authorities with the agreement of the authority concerned, to assist the Commission in monitoring the effective implementation and compliance with the relevant provisions of this Regulation and to provide specific expertise or knowledge to the Commission.

Voor de uitvoering van de taken die haar uit hoofde van deze afdeling zijn toegewezen, kan de Commissie de nodige maatregelen nemen om toezicht te houden op de daadwerkelijke uitvoering en naleving van deze verordening door aanbieders van zeer grote onlineplatforms en van zeer grote onlinezoekmachines. De Commissie kan hen gelasten toegang te verlenen tot en uitleg te geven over hun databanken en algoritmen. Dergelijke maatregelen kunnen inhouden dat aan de aanbieder van het zeer grote onlineplatform of van de zeer grote onlinezoekmachine de verplichting wordt opgelegd alle documenten te bewaren die noodzakelijk worden geacht voor de beoordeling van de uitvoering en naleving van de uit deze verordening voortvloeiende verplichtingen.
2. De maatregelen krachtens lid 1 kunnen de aanstelling omvatten van onafhankelijke externe deskundigen en controleurs, en met goedkeuring van de betrokken autoriteit door deskundigen en controleurs van bevoegde nationale autoriteiten, om de Commissie bij te staan bij het toezicht op de daadwerkelijke uitvoering en naleving van de desbetreffende bepalingen van deze verordening en om de Commissie specifieke deskundigheid of kennis te verschaffen.
