Article 1

For the purposes of this Act and the provisions based thereon, the following definitions shall apply:
management board: management board as referred to in Article 3a, paragraph 2;
defect: a defect as referred to in Article 7:241 of the Civil Code;
Rent Tribunal: Rent Tribunal as referred to in Article 3a;
inflation rate: the percentage, published every year in January by the Central Bureau of Statistics, by which consumer prices (all households) have increased relative to the year preceding that publication, immediately prior to the date of 1 July;
Our Minister: Our Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning;
hearing committee: hearing committee as referred to in Article 21, paragraph 1.
In this Act and the provisions based thereon, the terms residential space, independent dwelling, residential caravan, pitch, price, rent, household income, income reference year, reference year, costs for utility services with an individual meter, service costs, and energy performance fee shall have the same meaning as defined in Section 5 of Title 7.4 of Book 7 of the Civil Code.
In deze wet en de daarop berustende bepalingen wordt verstaan onder:
bestuur: bestuur als bedoeld in artikel 3a, tweede lid;
gebrek: gebrek als bedoeld in artikel 7:241 van het Burgerlijk Wetboek;
huurcommissie: huurcommissie als bedoeld in artikel 3a;
inflatiepercentage: het onmiddellijk voorafgaand aan de datum van 1 juli, ieder jaar in januari door het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek bekendgemaakte percentage, waarmee de consumentenprijzen (alle huishoudens) ten opzichte van het aan die bekendmaking voorafgaande jaar zijn verhoogd;
Onze Minister: Onze Minister van Volkshuisvesting en Ruimtelijke Ordening;
zittingscommissie: zittingscommissie als bedoeld in artikel 21, eerste lid.
In deze wet en de daarop berustende bepalingen wordt onder woonruimte, zelfstandige woning, woonwagen, standplaats, prijs, huurprijs, huishoudinkomen, inkomenstoetsjaar, peiljaar, kosten voor nutsvoorzieningen met een individuele meter, servicekosten en energieprestatievergoeding verstaan hetgeen daaronder wordt verstaan in afdeling 5 van titel 7.4 van Boek 7 van het Burgerlijk Wetboek.
