The supervisory board is charged with the supervision of:
the execution of the public media assignment at the national level;
the activities of the management board; and
the general course of affairs in the organisation of the NPO.
The supervisory board shall advise the management board.
The supervisory board is further charged with:
the adoption of the annual accounts of the NPO; and
amending the articles of association of the NPO, upon the proposal of the board of directors;
In the performance of its duties, the supervisory board shall observe the common interest of the national public media service, the board shall operate with sensitivity to the field of forces in which the national public media service functions, and the board shall take into account the interests of the national public media institutions.
The management board shall provide the supervisory board in a timely manner with the information that the supervisory board requires for the performance of its duties.
The supervisory board shall establish a rotation schedule for its members, providing that the members do not all retire simultaneously.
De raad van toezicht is belast met het toezicht op:
de uitvoering van de publieke mediaopdracht op landelijk niveau;
de werkzaamheden van de raad van bestuur; en
de algemene gang van zaken in de organisatie van de NPO.
De raad van toezicht staat de raad van bestuur met advies ter zijde.
De raad van toezicht is verder belast met:
het vaststellen van de jaarrekening van de NPO; en
het wijzigen van de statuten van de NPO, op voorstel van de raad van bestuur;
Bij de uitvoering van zijn taak neemt de raad van toezicht het gemeenschappelijke belang van de landelijke publieke mediadienst in acht, werkt de raad met gevoel voor het krachtenveld waarin de landelijke publieke mediadienst functioneert en houdt de raad rekening met de belangen van de landelijke publieke media-instellingen.
De raad van bestuur verstrekt de raad van toezicht tijdig de informatie die de raad van toezicht nodig heeft voor de uitvoering van zijn taak.
De raad van toezicht stelt een rooster van aftreden voor zijn leden op waarin wordt voorzien dat de leden niet allen gelijktijdig aftreden.
