Patents granted under this Convention shall be called European patents.
2.
The European patent shall, in each of the Contracting States for which it is granted, have the effect of and be subject to the same conditions as a national patent granted by that State, unless this Convention provides otherwise.

De op grond van dit Verdrag verleende octrooien worden Europese octrooien genoemd.
2.
Het Europees octrooi heeft in elk van de Verdragsluitende Staten waarvoor het is verleend, dezelfde werking en is onderworpen aan dezelfde bepalingen als een nationaal octrooi dat door die Staat is verleend, voor zover dit Verdrag niet anders bepaalt.
