Article 6:121

If an obligation extends to the payment of money other than that of the country where the payment must be made, the debtor is authorised to satisfy the obligation in the currency of the place of payment.
The previous paragraph does not apply if it follows from the law, custom, or a juridical act that the debtor is obliged to make payment effectively in the currency in which the obligation is expressed.
Strekt een verbintenis tot betaling van ander geld dan dat van het land waar de betaling moet geschieden, dan is de schuldenaar bevoegd de verbintenis in het geld van de plaats van betaling te voldoen.
Het vorige lid geldt niet, indien uit wet, gewoonte of rechtshandeling voortvloeit dat de schuldenaar verplicht is tot betaling effectief in het geld tot betaling waarvan de verbintenis strekt.
