The supervisors referred to in Article 10:16 are authorised, by way of a provisional measure, to cause the vehicle to be removed to a place designated by them and to be taken into custody, or to cause a mechanical device to be fitted to the vehicle, thereby preventing the vehicle from being driven away. They may demand that, before the vehicle is returned to the driver, the administrative fine be paid in addition to the costs of removal and custody.
De in artikel 10:16 bedoelde toezichthouders zijn bevoegd bij wijze van voorlopige maatregel het voertuig naar een door hen aangewezen plaats te doen overbrengen en in bewaring te stellen, dan wel aan het voertuig een mechanisch hulpmiddel te doen aanbrengen, waardoor verhinderd wordt dat het voertuig wordt weggereden. Zij kunnen vorderen dat, alvorens het voertuig aan de bestuurder wordt teruggegeven, naast de kosten van overbrenging en bewaring eveneens de bestuurlijke boete zal worden voldaan.
