The court has the same authority as is granted to the Public Prosecution Service in Article 147. It exercises this authority either of its own motion, or upon the claim of the public prosecutor, or upon the petition of the suspect. Article 147, paragraph 2, applies mutatis mutandis.
De rechtbank heeft gelijke bevoegdheid als in artikel 147 aan het openbaar ministerie is toegekend. Zij oefent die uit hetzij ambtshalve, hetzij op vordering van den officier van justitie of op verzoek van den verdachte. Artikel 147, tweede lid, is van overeenkomstige toepassing.
