In all cases in which a suspect who does not have a sufficient command of the Dutch language is heard, the assistance of an interpreter shall be invoked.
The interpreter shall be summoned by the examining official, unless otherwise provided by law. During the preliminary investigation, the interpreter may be summoned orally. In all other cases, the summons shall be effected in writing.
The assistance of an interpreter shall be recorded in the official report.
In alle gevallen waarin een verdachte die de Nederlandse taal niet of onvoldoende beheerst wordt gehoord, wordt de bijstand van een tolk ingeroepen.
De tolk wordt opgeroepen door de verhorende ambtenaar, tenzij anders bij wet bepaald. Tijdens het voorbereidende onderzoek kan de tolk mondeling worden opgeroepen. In alle andere gevallen geschiedt de oproeping schriftelijk.
Van de bijstand van een tolk wordt mededeling gedaan in het proces-verbaal.
