If the bill of exchange contains signatures of persons who lack the capacity to bind themselves by means of a bill of exchange, forged signatures, or signatures of fictitious persons, or signatures which, for whatever other reason, cannot bind the persons who have placed those signatures or in whose name this was done, the obligations of the other persons whose signatures appear on the bill of exchange are nevertheless valid.
Indien de wisselbrief handteekeningen bevat van personen, die onbekwaam zijn zich door middel van eenen wisselbrief te verbinden, valsche handteekeningen, of handteekeningen van verdichte personen, of handteekeningen, welke, onverschillig om welke andere reden, de personen, die die handteekeningen hebben geplaatst of in wier naam zulks is geschied, niet kunnen verbinden, zijn de verbintenissen der andere personen, wier handteekeningen op den wisselbrief voorkomen, desniettemin geldig.
