The bill of exchange contains:
the term "bill of exchange", included in the text itself and expressed in the language in which the instrument is drawn up;
the unconditional order to pay a determinate sum;
the name of the person who is to pay (drawee);
the designation of the due date;
that of the place where the payment must be made;
the name of the person to whom or to whose order the payment must be made;
the statement of the date, as well as of the place where the bill of exchange is drawn;
the signature of the person who issues the bill of exchange (drawer).
De wisselbrief behelst:
de benaming "wisselbrief", opgenomen in den tekst zelf en uitgedrukt in de taal, waarin de titel is gesteld;
de onvoorwaardelijke opdracht tot betaling van een bepaalde som;
den naam van dengene, die betalen moet (betrokkene);
de aanwijzing van den vervaldag;
die van de plaats, waar de betaling moet geschieden;
den naam van dengene, aan wien of aan wiens order de betaling moet worden gedaan;
de vermelding van de dagteekening, alsmede van de plaats, waar de wisselbrief is getrokken;
de handteekening van dengene, die den wisselbrief uitgeeft (trekker).
