The rights and obligations arising from Articles 53 up to and including 60 and 64 up to and including 73 shall also apply in, on, and above that part of the continental shelf adjacent to the Netherlands, Curaçao, or Sint Maarten over which the Kingdom has sovereign rights, but exclusively insofar as it concerns acts directed at and performed during the exploration for the presence of natural resources or the exploitation thereof.
De rechten en verplichtingen, voortvloeiende uit de artikelen 53 tot en met 60 en 64 tot en met 73, gelden mede in, op en boven dat deel van het aan Nederland, Curaçao of Sint Maarten grenzende continentaal plat, waarop het Koninkrijk soevereine rechten heeft, doch uitsluitend voor zover het betreft handelingen, gericht op en verricht tijdens het onderzoek naar de aanwezigheid van natuurlijke rijkdommen of het winnen daarvan.
