The examining magistrate may, upon the motion of the public prosecutor at the district public prosecutor's office in Amsterdam, order the detention of the person claimed.
Before issuing an order pursuant to the first paragraph, the examining magistrate shall, if possible, hear the person claimed. During his examination, the person claimed may be assisted by his counsel.
De rechter-commissaris kan, op vordering van de officier van justitie bij het arrondissementsparket te Amsterdam, de bewaring van de opgeëiste persoon bevelen.
Alvorens een bevel ingevolge het eerste lid te geven, hoort de rechter-commissaris zo mogelijk de opgeëiste persoon. Bij zijn verhoor kan de opgeëiste persoon zich door zijn raadsman doen bijstaan.
