The Commissariaat is charged with the review of the lawfulness of the expenditures of the NPO, the national public media institutions, and the Ster.
The national public media institutions and the Ster shall annually submit the annual accounts to the Commissariaat before 1 May and shall simultaneously send a copy thereof to the board of directors. The NPO, the national public media institutions and the Ster shall include a summary of the annual accounts in the management report, as referred to in Articles 2.17, 2.34i, 2.40 and 2.103, in conjunction with Articles 48 and 300 of Book 2 of the Civil Code.
The board of directors shall submit the annual accounts of the NPO to the Media Authority (Commissariaat) before 1 July.
Het Commissariaat is belast met de rechtmatigheidstoetsing van de uitgaven van de NPO, de landelijke publieke media-instellingen en de Ster.
De landelijke publieke media-instellingen en de Ster zenden jaarlijks vóór 1 mei de jaarrekening aan het Commissariaat en sturen gelijktijdig een afschrift daarvan aan de raad van bestuur. De NPO, de landelijke publieke media-instellingen en de Ster nemen in het bestuursverslag, bedoeld in de artikelen 2.17, 2.34i, 2.40 en 2.103, in samenhang met de artikelen 48 en 300 van Boek 2 van het Burgerlijk Wetboek een samengevatte jaarrekening op.
De raad van bestuur zendt vóór 1 juli de jaarrekening van de NPO aan het Commissariaat.
