If the obligation extends to the payment of a sum of money or the delivery of a thing, the debtor is authorised, in the event of default of the creditor, to place the due performance in deposit for the benefit of the creditor.
Strekt de verbintenis tot betaling van een geldsom of tot aflevering van een zaak, dan is in geval van verzuim van de schuldeiser de schuldenaar bevoegd het verschuldigde ten behoeve van de schuldeiser in bewaring te stellen.
