If an obligation (last) has been imposed on a specific person as an heir or legatee and he has not become an heir or legatee or his right has lapsed, then the obligation imposed on him shall, unless the contrary follows from its nature or from the will, rest upon those to whom his share of the estate accrues or those who were burdened with the legacy made to him.
Is een last aan een bepaalde persoon als erfgenaam of legataris opgelegd en is hij niet erfgenaam of legataris geworden of is zijn recht vervallen, dan rust de hem opgelegde verplichting, tenzij uit haar aard of uit de uiterste wil iets anders voortvloeit, op degenen aan wie zijn erfdeel toevalt of die met het hem gemaakte legaat waren belast.
