Those on whom a legacy is encumbered, as well as the executor, shall ensure that the legatee is notified of the legacy as soon as possible. If the address of a legatee remains unknown to them, they shall inform the subdistrict court (kantonrechter), which may order them to conduct inquiries or to effect a specific manner of summons.
Degenen op wie een legaat rust, alsmede de executeur, dragen zorg dat de legataris zo spoedig mogelijk van het legaat wordt kennis gegeven. Is het adres van een legataris hun onbekend gebleven, dan delen zij dit mede aan de kantonrechter, die hun het doen van nasporingen of een bepaalde wijze van oproeping kan gelasten.
