The board is charged with the general management of the KNB and with the performance of the tasks assigned to it by or pursuant to this Act or other acts, as well as with the administration and disposal of its assets. Furthermore, it provides general management to the office of the KNB and regulates its activities.
The board is assisted by a number of secretaries, including the management of the office. The management of the office is charged with the coordination of their activities and with the direction of the day-to-day operations of the office.
The board may establish further rules regarding its working methods and those of the office.
The board shall annually draw up a report on its activities for the benefit of the general meeting of members and shall send this to the members' council for advice. It shall bring the report to the attention of Our Minister.

Het bestuur is belast met de algemene leiding van de KNB en met de uitoefening van aan haar bij of krachtens deze wet of andere wetten opgedragen taken, alsmede met het beheer en de beschikking over haar vermogen. Het geeft voorts algemene leiding aan het bureau van de KNB en regelt zijn werkzaamheid.
Het bestuur wordt bijgestaan door een aantal secretarissen, waaronder de directie van het bureau. De directie van het bureau is belast met de coördinatie van hun werkzaamheden en met de leiding van de dagelijkse gang van zaken van het bureau.
Het bestuur kan nadere regelen stellen betreffende zijn werkwijze en die van het bureau.
Het bestuur stelt jaarlijks een verslag op over zijn werkzaamheden ten behoeve van de algemene ledenvergadering en zendt dit om advies aan de ledenraad. Het brengt het verslag ter kennis van Onze Minister.
Het bestuur stelt jaarlijks een verantwoording op van zijn financieel beleid alsmede een begroting voor het komende boekjaar, met toelichting, en zendt deze stukken om advies aan de ledenraad.
