By the acceptance, the drawee undertakes to pay the bill of exchange on the date of maturity.

In default of payment, the holder, even if he were the drawer, has a direct claim against the acceptor, arising from the bill of exchange, for all that may be claimed pursuant to Articles 147 and 148.

Door de acceptatie verbindt de betrokkene zich, den wisselbrief op den vervaldag te betalen.

Bij gebreke van betaling heeft de houder, al ware hij de trekker, tegen den acceptant een rechtstreeksche vordering, uit den wisselbrief voortspruitend, voor al hetgeen kan worden gevorderd krachtens de artikelen 147 en 148.
