The defendant against whom a default has been entered has the power, as long as the final judgment has not yet been rendered, to nonetheless appear in the proceedings, or to nonetheless pay the court fees, whereby the consequences of the default entered against him shall lapse, except with regard to the costs caused thereby.
De gedaagde tegen wie verstek is verleend, heeft, zolang het eindvonnis nog niet is gewezen, de bevoegdheid om alsnog in het geding te verschijnen, of om alsnog het griffierecht te voldoen, waardoor de gevolgen van het tegen hem verleende verstek vervallen, behalve ten aanzien van de daardoor veroorzaakte kosten.
