The mayor and the public prosecutor shall regularly consult with the head of the territorial division of the regional unit within whose territory the municipality falls in whole or in part, and, if necessary, with the chief of police of a regional unit, regarding the performance of police duties and the policy concerning the performance of such duties (tripartite consultation).
In the tripartite consultation (driehoeksoverleg), the mayor and the public prosecutor shall make agreements regarding the deployment of the police for the purpose of maintaining public order and providing assistance, and for the purpose of the criminal law enforcement of the legal order and the tasks in the service of the judiciary, respectively. The agreements shall be made partly on the basis of the objectives referred to in Article 38b, paragraph 1.
At the request of the mayor, the tripartite consultation (driehoeksoverleg) takes place at the municipal level.
In the tripartite consultation (driehoeksoverleg), the mayor and the public prosecutor make agreements regarding local priorities and the combating of crime.
De burgemeester en de officier van justitie overleggen regelmatig tezamen met het hoofd van het territoriale onderdeel van de regionale eenheid binnen welker grondgebied de gemeente geheel of ten dele valt, en zo nodig met de politiechef van een regionale eenheid, over de taakuitvoering van de politie en over het beleid ten aanzien van de taakuitvoering (driehoeksoverleg).
In het driehoeksoverleg worden door de burgemeester en de officier van justitie afspraken gemaakt over de inzet van de politie ten behoeve van de handhaving van de openbare orde en de hulpverlening, onderscheidenlijk ten behoeve van de strafrechtelijke handhaving van de rechtsorde en de taken ten dienste van de justitie. De afspraken worden mede gemaakt op basis van de doelen, bedoeld in artikel 38b, eerste lid.
Op verzoek van de burgemeester vindt het driehoeksoverleg plaats op gemeentelijk niveau.
In het driehoeksoverleg worden door de burgemeester en de officier van justitie afspraken gemaakt over lokale prioriteiten en criminaliteitsbestrijding.
