Land consolidation is intended for the improvement of the layout of the rural area in accordance with the functions that have been assigned to the relevant locations.
In the context of land consolidation, the following measures and provisions may be implemented:
the alteration of the system of roads or public works for water management,
construction, development, preservation, management or restoration of areas of importance from the perspective of nature conservation or landscape preservation, or of elements of landscape, recreational, geological or scientific value, or cultural heritage, and
other measures or provisions of public interest.
In the case of land consolidation, provision may be made for the allocation of ownership, the management, and the maintenance of public utility facilities.
Land consolidation may form part of rural development, whereby a deduction as referred to in Article 12.29 may be applied if it is necessary to acquire the ownership of immovable property.
Landinrichting strekt tot verbetering van de inrichting van het landelijk gebied in overeenstemming met de functies die aan de betrokken locaties zijn toegedeeld.
Bij landinrichting kunnen de volgende maatregelen en voorzieningen worden getroffen:
het wijzigen van het stelsel van wegen of waterstaatswerken,
aanleg, ontwikkeling, behoud, beheer of herstel van gebieden van belang uit een oogpunt van natuurbescherming of landschapsbehoud of van elementen van landschappelijke, recreatieve, aardkundige of natuurwetenschappelijke waarde, of cultureel erfgoed, en
andere maatregelen of voorzieningen van openbaar nut.
Bij landinrichting kan worden voorzien in de toedeling van eigendom, het beheer en het onderhoud van voorzieningen van openbaar nut.
Herverkaveling kan deel uitmaken van landinrichting, waarbij korting als bedoeld in artikel 12.29 kan worden toegepast als het nodig is de eigendom van onroerende zaken te verwerven.
