Article 51
in forceThe Secretary-General of the United Nations shall receive the texts of the reservations made by the States at the time of ratification or accession, and shall circulate them to all States.
A reservation that is incompatible with the object and purpose of this Convention is not permitted.
A reservation may be withdrawn at any time by a notification to that effect addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who shall then inform all States thereof. This notification shall become effective on the date of receipt by the Secretary-General.
De Secretaris-Generaal van de Verenigde Naties ontvangt de teksten van de voorbehouden die de Staten op het tijdstip van bekrachtiging of toetreding maken, en stuurt deze rond aan alle Staten.
Een voorbehoud dat niet verenigbaar is met doel en strekking van dit Verdrag is niet toegestaan.
Een voorbehoud kan te allen tijde worden ingetrokken door een daartoe strekkende mededeling gericht aan de Secretaris-Generaal van de Verenigde Naties, die vervolgens alle Staten hiervan in kennis stelt. Deze mededeling wordt van kracht op de datum van ontvangst door de Secretaris-Generaal.
