In order to be permitted to enter into a marriage, a man and a woman must have reached the age of eighteen years.

Marriage certificate drawn up in the Netherlands between two women eligible for entry into the civil status register in Aruba; interregional private international law, cultural diversity, Article 40 of the Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands: legal validity of instruments within the Kingdom is equal everywhere without prior recognition and notwithstanding contrary local views in the parts of the Kingdom, no conflict-of-laws test or public policy (openbare orde) test.
