The legal separation (scheiding van tafel en bed) is effected by the registration of the order in the matrimonial property register designated in Article 116.
The registration takes place upon the petition of the spouses or of one of them.
If the petition (application) has not been made at the latest six months after the day on which the order has become final, the order loses its force.
De scheiding van tafel en bed komt tot stand door de inschrijving van de beschikking in het huwelijksgoederenregister, aangewezen in artikel 116.
De inschrijving geschiedt op verzoek van de echtgenoten of van één van hen.
Indien het verzoek niet is gedaan uiterlijk zes maanden na de dag waarop de beschikking in kracht van gewijsde is gegaan, verliest de beschikking haar kracht.
