The mayor shall receive petitions for naturalisation from persons who are registered as residents of his municipality in the personal records database (basisregistratie personen).
He shall also receive naturalisation petitions from petitioners who, pursuant to statutory regulations, do not qualify for registration as a resident in the personal records database (basisregistratie personen), provided they have their habitual residence in his municipality.
He shall, furthermore, receive petitions for naturalisation from persons who have their residence in his municipality and have their principal residence nowhere in the world.
The persons referred to in the first, second and third paragraphs shall receive a copy of their petition for naturalisation.
Naturalisation petitions from persons other than those mentioned in the first, second and third paragraph shall not be accepted by him.
Naturalisation petitions shall, upon receipt, be provided with a date and an official service stamp.
De burgemeester neemt naturalisatieverzoeken in ontvangst van personen die als ingezetenen van zijn gemeente zijn ingeschreven in de basisregistratie personen.
Hij neemt tevens in ontvangst naturalisatieverzoeken van verzoekers die ingevolge wettelijke voorschriften niet voor inschrijving als ingezetene in de basisregistratie personen in aanmerking komen, indien zij hoofdverblijf hebben in zijn gemeente.
Hij neemt bovendien in ontvangst naturalisatieverzoeken van personen die in zijn gemeente verblijf hebben en nergens ter wereld hun hoofdverblijf.
De in het eerste, tweede en derde lid genoemde personen ontvangen een afschrift van hun naturalisatieverzoek.
Naturalisatieverzoeken van andere personen dan die genoemd in het eerste, tweede en derde lid worden door hem niet in ontvangst genomen.
Naturalisatieverzoeken worden bij ontvangst voorzien van een datum en een dienststempel.
