Obvious clerical or spelling errors and obvious mistakes may be corrected ex officio by the registrar of births, deaths, marriages and registered partnerships. If a deed concerning the same person or his descendants is held in another municipality, which likewise requires correction, the registrar of births, deaths, marriages and registered partnerships who has made the correction in the deed shall inform the registrar of births, deaths, marriages and registered partnerships in the other municipality thereof.
Kennelijke schrijf- of spelfouten en kennelijke misslagen kunnen ambtshalve door de ambtenaar van de burgerlijke stand worden verbeterd. Indien in een andere gemeente een akte betreffende dezelfde persoon of diens afstammelingen wordt gehouden, die eveneens verbetering behoeft, stelt de ambtenaar van de burgerlijke stand die de verbetering in de akte heeft aangebracht de ambtenaar van de burgerlijke stand in de andere gemeente daarvan op de hoogte.
